We have one classroom rule:
RESPECT EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING
RESPECT EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING
House Points
Each student, teacher, and staff is placed in a house. Our houses are as follows:
Adimento - House of Courage: Lion, color is yellow
Bello - House of Kindness: Deer, color is purple
Loovus - House of Creativity: Fox, color is red
Sabio - House of Wisdom: Owl, color is green
The house with the most points at the end of each nine weeks earns a house reward that is determined by the principal. In the past, house rewards have been a field trip to the movies, dance party, and extra recess.
House flags are displayed on the flag pole at the front of the school. The flags are in order as to which house is in the lead for the week. Example: If the purple flag is on top, then Bello is in the lead for house points.
Students can earn house points as a team. Working together quickly and quietly, being creative on a project, keeping their table neat, or showing kindness to others are examples of teamwork.
Students can also earn house points by having neat and complete work, working the entire time, sharing, helping others, or having spectacular behavior/manners are just some examples of excellence.
*Fabulous Fridays are when we wear our house colors. We meet in the gym at 7:15 a.m. to let new students spin for a house, firecrackers spin for bonus points, house points are announced, houses practice their cheers/chants, and mentors meet with their students.
Treasure Box
As a class the students can earn the treasure box. If the class has 100% attendance, then we turn over one letter in the word "Respect". Once all of the letters have been turned over, then the whole class gets a treat from the treasure box!
Pizza Hut Coupons
Students that master their sight words each month (October-March) earn a Pizza Hut coupon for a free personal pan pizza.
Pull Tabs
The class that collects the most weight in pull tabs gets a party! The pull tabs are collected to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
Stickers/Kisses
Hersey Kisses (Kiss Your Brain) and stickers are earned in class at random times for completion of work or for showing kindness to others. Students are allowed to decorate their journals with stickers, put them on their clothes, or keep them on their work. Stickers should never be put on any classroom item or on the floor.
Mr. Potato Head
The student's love to build Mr. Potato Head! They can earn parts by being respectful and working together in class. An example would be everyone in class did their homework, sitting on the carpet quietly, cleaning up stations before the clean up song ends, or lining up quickly and quietly. When Mr. Potato Head is complete, the class earns a candy reward.
Fun Friday
Students that have less than three behavior marks for the week earn fun friday. Activities vary, but choices usually include computer games, ipads, puzzles, STEM tubs, Play Doh, toys, coloring books, or building with shapes.

10 Essentials of Excellence
- We will respond to any adult by saying “Yes, no, mam or sir”. We will not nod our head or say anything other than a form of yes or no.
- We will respect ourselves and others. We will show this by congratulating winners and respecting other’s comments, opinions and ideas. We will not show disrespectful gestures such as eye rolling, smacking our lips, or booing.
- We will always be honest. We will always tell the truth even if we have made a mistake.
- We will stop and respond to adults by stopping and giving them our attention when spoken to.
- We will be responsible. We will show this by bringing all homework and supplies to class each day.
- We will be considerate of private conversations between teachers and students. We will show this by not interrupting or commenting.
- We will clean up after ourselves at all times even if we did not make the mess.
- We will always sit forward, keep our hands to ourselves and stay in our seats while eating in the cafeteria and on the bus.
- We will always say thank you when given something. We will not ask for a reward, doing your best is an EXPECTATION.
- We will always be the best that we can be.
